Sunlu sent me their PPA-CF filament for testing. The results were surprising. This material turned out to be one of the stiffest filaments I have ever tested in bending. The flexural performance is outstanding, and the creep resistance under load is also impressive. However, there is a catch: the filament itself is quite brittle. And while this is not unusual for carbon fiber reinforced materials, it may explain why this product was discontinued before reaching a wider market. In this video I test Sunlu PPA-CF using my standard methodology: tensile strength, layer adhesion, shear, torsion, impact, temperature resistance, creep behavior and bending stiffness — so you can compare it directly with all previously tested materials in my spreadsheet.
