Hello from Enthusiastic Steve; I want to introduce you to a commercial, yes, a commercial antenna that as a radio hobbyist you really should take a close look at. A bare bone stripped back 5/8th over 5/8th vertical antenna, have it home base, use it out portable, maybe on the 145 alive weekends, use it as a replacement for a discone antenna, receive stations you have never heard before, use it to monitor, Airband, Marine, receive AIS, ACARS and as a bonus try it out on the Amateur UHF band, you may be pleasantly surprised. Listen to UHF commercial stations using your Uniden, Icom or Kenwood scanners, then for the 446 pirates be amazed how this so called VHF antenna performs at 446 MHz (Not officially authorised for use on the 446 band). Use it as an antenna for your SDRPlay (RSP1A) / SDRuno, great results. Let me know what you think, comments always welcome.
