Just to prove that a winter walk in Wales is not all cloud and murk... I spent the whole of last winter checking routes and taking photos for a new Ordnance Survey book (due to be published in 2026). Some days that was challenging, but the weather gods were on my side as I climbed the Skirrid with my husband. What a glorious day - and glorious views across to the Brecon Beacons, to boot. The Skirrid is an outlier to the other hills, so there are fantastic views all round.
