Our Ex-Lothian Atlantean GSC 659X was converted back to fully automatic a number of years ago, sadly its gearbox computer has since developed a fault. This is a short part of a video of us the testing the repaired LVA 45 Translator panel, big thanks to the guys at Alliance Electronics, the only people in the UK who can fix these old solid state monster. The LVA Gearbox control panel was designed by Orbit Electronics in the early 1980s as a replacement for the older G2 control system. The LVA 45 features a window which allows you to see the progression of the gears and the automatic change operation between each gear. As you can see the gearbox only requires a fraction of a second to change up a gear. LEDS from the top:- L2 - Speed level setting for 2nd gear reached L3 - Speed level setting for 3rd gear reached L4 - Speed level setting for 4th gear reached L5 - Speed level setting for 5th gear reached 2G - Error Two Gears selected DR - Reverse Gear selected from panel D1 - 1st Gear (crawler) selected from panel D2 - 2nd Gear selected from panel D3 - 3rd Gear selected from panel D4 - 4th Gear selected from panel D5 - 5th Gear selected from panel 1st D - First Delay throttle dip THR D - Throttle Dip NG - Neutral Gap LA - Low Air Pressure WNG - Loss off speed signal from angle drive DO - Exit door interlock RET - Retarder (bridged out as Atlantean does not have one)
