Fake Guitar Bass playing Guitar No Guitar All Bass Royal Blood Royal Blood Guitar Royla Blood Bass Royal Blood Sound Royal Blood Pedalboard You Really Got Me Bass Guitar Teenage Kicks Bass Guitar Blitzkreig Bop Bass Guitar Brain Stew Bass Guitar My Generation Bass Guitar Wild Thing Bass Guitar So after finding this project tucked away amongst other recordings, I present to you the second in the series of songs performed all on bass, no guitar! This video demonstrates the Royal Blood power chord tone, which is achieved with a Boss PS-6 Harmonist set to fifths. This sound works absolute wonders for beefing up any live performance where the line-up of a band (ie my functions band!) is minimal, and helps fill in the gaps in the sound for guitar drop outs (on solos) or if the guitarist has any techincal difficulties! The songs covered this time round include: The Kinks/Van Halen - You Really Got Me The Undertones - Teenage Kicks The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop Green Day - Brain Stew The Who - My Generation The Troggs - Wild Thing If you enjoy this, leave us a comment and request some tunes and I'll see what I can do! I have a further two episodes planned to demonstrate the sound further for live band use, so subscribe to see the latest uploads! So onto the geeky techincal (if you're still reading!). On this video, I'm using my trusty Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe and using the usual split signal path between a Boss TU-2 and LS-2. For bass, the main path is a Boss ODB3 and Sansamp Bass Driver DI straight into Logic Pro X. For guitar I'm running a POG2 (set up an octave), Boss PS-6 (set up a 5th), and new for the board, a Mashall JH-1 Jackhammer Overdrive/Distortion (straight out from Cash Converters of all places!) into an Orange Amp sim on Logic Pro X. Drums programmed in Logic Pro X and the the production all mixed in the DAW as well. The video was filmed with a Nikon D3300 (full view cam), Zoom Q3HD (fretboard cam) & iPhone 5 (pedalboard cam)
