This documentary, produced in 1998, tells the story of the Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Centre, widely known as the “Medicineless Hospital.” Dr. Pang Ming, the creator of Zhineng Qigong, was a physician trained in both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He founded the Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Centre, which became one of the largest of its kind in China. At its peak, tens of thousands of people travelled there seeking self-healing through daily Zhineng Qigong practice instead of conventional medication. The film shows how the centre was established, its guiding philosophy, and the impact it had on those who came for treatment. It also provides insight into Dr Pang Ming’s vision of combining traditional wisdom with modern scientific understanding to promote health and human potential. The documentary is not only a historical record of the centre’s work but also a rare glimpse into how communities were formed around collective healing practices. While it reflects the cultural and political environment of late 1990s China, its themes of self-healing, resilience, and holistic wellbeing remain deeply relevant today. 👉 Please note: some themes in the documentary reflect the historical context and may not apply today. ⚠️ Disclaimer This documentary was originally created in Chinese.
