The farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day in New Delhi that was meant to be peaceful and a platform to express their demands, took a violent turn as a section of protesters broke through police barricades and entered parts of the national capital not permitted for their protest. Day after a group of protesters hoisted flags from the ramparts of the Red Fort, security has been tightened at Red Fort in Delhi. The entry and exit gates of Lal Quila metro station have also been closed.
