Speaker Website Page: https://www.prehealthshadowing.com/co... About the Speaker: John Bradford is a Certified PA who served on the NCCPA Board of Directors from 2018 to 2025. He was the 2024 Board Chair and 2025 Immediate Past Chair. He has lived and worked in many remote and isolated areas across five continents. John was a Peace Corps Medical Officer in Malawi, Namibia and The Gambia. He also worked in Edinburgh Scotland, Kabul, Afghanistan and in the Pacific on Midway and Shemya Islands. John also spent time doing per diem work for the U,S, State Department in Malawi and The Gambia. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Solomon Islands and served as the medical provider for the Fall 2017 sailing of Semester at Sea. He has practiced in urgent care, internal medicine, occupational health and emergency medicine in the rural United States and holds adjunct professor positions with the University of Utah and the University of North Texas. John also serves on the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee of the AAPA as well as the Steering Committee for NCCPA’s Represent! Conference. John currently serves on the board of directors as Secretary for the International Association of P.A. Educators. He lives in Missoula Montana USA, splitting his time between clinics in Yellowstone National Park and the Prudhoe Bay region of Alaska. John earned a BSN from Montana State University and a master’s degree in PA Studies from the University of Utah. About Pre-Health Shadowing: Pre-Health Shadowing was created in response to the ongoing pandemic. Due to COVID-19, many in-person shadowing and clinical opportunities have been annulled. This has disrupted the paths of thousands of pre-health students as these hours are crucial for the academic and professional development needed for a successful health program applicant. Students interested in pursuing a career in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, research, physical therapy, or are just curious are encouraged to attend. Pre-Health Shadowing was built to accommodate the lives of students, giving options to attend the live Zoom or review the video at a later time. Students can receive a certificate verifying their participation in the program. We host various health professionals from different backgrounds to talk about their job, education, extracurricular activities, admissions process, daily tasks, interesting cases, tips, and more.
