Coastal erosion has been happening for thousands of years, but this video tells a more recent story. We look at the past 50 years of erosion at Wamberal Beach, tracing the escalating crisis from when the first homes were lost in the 1970s, to today's ongoing community battle. Wamberal is at breaking point. Coastal erosion and rising sea levels have swallowed backyards, collapsed homes, and divided the community. Some demand a seawall. Others call for sand nourishment. However, after years of storms, plans, and failed solutions, the crisis remains unresolved, and this beach remains one of NSW’s most extreme erosion hotspots.
