How No Contact Orders Work

No Contact Orders are put in place by judges in criminal cases where people are accused of assault and/or theft cases (in most cases). You can almost always expect them in domestic violence cases. In Texas, where I practice, if a judge gives a person a No Contact Order it will last the entire time the case is pending. No Contact means NO CONTACT. No calls, texts, anything like that. Violation of a No Contact Order can get a person thrown in jail.
