From our event on July 18th, 2020 Thomas Hübl: “Through the World Wide Web, we have created an external manifestation of our inner architecture. We created a global brain. And because of the global brain, we now have a perspective, a new consciousness of humanity and the world. And because of that, I believe that digital restoration is now possible. If we use technology to help us to integrate trauma, we have a very powerful partner. When we use technology and develop technology, at the same time we are trauma-informed, and we take this trauma factor into account, I believe we can literally restore the trauma in the world." From increased polarization to ubiquitous means of distraction, technology is often seen to have a negative effect on trauma. But what would a technological landscape look like that was in service of actually healing individual and collective trauma? Is it possible to create global coherence, rather than fragmentation, through technology? And how might we best leverage tech in service of the evolution of human consciousness? --- Thomas Hübl is a visionary teacher, innovator, and author. His work integrates the core insights of the great wisdom traditions with the discoveries of contemporary science.His teaching combines somatic awareness practices, advanced meditative practices, and transformational processes that address both individual and collective trauma. Originally a student of medicine and science, Thomas took a radical departure from his career to commit to a four-year meditation retreat. As a result of those four years, he emerged with a dedication to explore consciousness and our collective potential for growth and healing. He has worked with thousands of people worldwide through workshops, multi-year training programs and online courses. Thomas has guided large-scale healing events that have brought together thousands of Germans and Israelis to acknowledge, face and heal the cultural shadow left by the Holocaust. medicine, law, anthropology, and art. Thomas is the founder of the Academy of Inner Science, an institution utilizing a distinctive approach to exploring consciousness, evolution, and the junctures between mysticism and science. The Academy of Inner Science Graduate Program currently collaborates with five universities that offer Ph.D. programs in consciousness studies. An activist for the cause of global healing, Thomas created The Celebrate Life Festival, which has taken place annually in Europe for nearly two decades and is now in the US. The gathering brings together hundreds of people from around the world for a profound experiential immersion in human and cultural development and transformation. He is also the founder of the non-profit, The Pocket Project, whose mission is to help foster the deep healing of past planetary traumas and the alleviation of suffering in the world’s current conflict zones through powerful, large-scale group processes. Thomas has collaborated with luminaries in related fields, including addiction expert Dr. Gabor Maté, philosopher Ken Wilber, three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee Scilla Elworthy, psychosomatic medicine specialist Edda Gottschaldt, M.I.T professor Otto Scharmer, world-renowned family system therapist Stephan Hausner, law professor Stephan Breidenbach, and renowned Harvard mediator William Ury. Since 2004, Thomas has maintained an active schedule as a speaker, teacher, and trainer of both students and professionals. He lives in Israel and Germany with his wife, the artist Yehudit Sasportas, and their daughter.
