In many countries around the world, eels are a delicacy. To Bob Mooney they’re dollar marks. He had the first and only eel farm in Georgia and raised over 500,000 of them every month. That’s unusual. What’s even more unusual is his eel farm was 200 miles away from the ocean outside of Madison, Ga in Morgan County. Eels are salt water animals but they breed and grow in fresh water. Bob Mooney had plenty of fresh water and did his part to feed the world. This story aired on WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News in 1976.
