This video discusses some of the ways to become a Midwife in the UK with specific reference to my guest's own experience. There are several way to become a Midwife in the UK. One way is through the NMC process for registering as internationally trained midwife in UK. There is the 3 years BSc Midwifery degree, if you are a registered adult Nurse, you can do the 18 months shortened course. Some Universities offer shortened MSc Midwifery to Registered Adult Nurses who already have a degree to study Midwifery at a masters level for 2 years and some of these courses are funded depending on the University and meeting the entry requirements. A few of the midwifery courses are open to international students but are expensive costing over £ 15.000 for International students- excluding accommodation. Some of the courses are fully funded for Registered adult General Nurses in the UK ( Home Students) Some Universities also offer Midwifery degree apprenticeship for 40 months.
