Being in Tainan for a week, I thought it would be hard to meet people. From my experience, not everyone in Tainan, especially the older generation, do not speak English. Due to the language barrier, it was a little difficult communicating and talking with people. However, I was surprised to how open the people were. I would go up to people asking for recommendations on what to eat in the city. After getting through the awkward stage of pantomiming and Google Translate, it felt as if the people in Tainan just wanted to show their city and their country's food. They're proud of where they're from, and out of all the countries I traveled to on this trip, I've got to say Taiwanese people are not if not the nicest people whom I've met. As a result, I was able to meet people in this city, and for one night, the people from Lane Corner Coffee, a cafe that I would visit on a quasi-daily basis, invited me to dinner to bring me around their town. Thank you to everyone for the dinner and the dessert! Not only for this experience, but as this wraps up my last vlog with people internationally for this trip, it serves as a symbol of how my travels have gone so far - meeting random people and them inviting me to see their world.
