The song was ranked #38 on Billboard magazine's Top Hot 100 songs of 1963. "JAM UP AND JELLY TIGHT" written by Tommy Roe and Freddy Weller, produced by Steve Barri, was released on the ABC Records label in November 1969 and got all the way to #8 in the U.S. It reached #5 in Canada and Australia. "Jam Up And Jelly Tight" is a southern saying that Tommy Roe's Dad- THOMAS HUDLOW ROE used to say when things were going very well- or also to describe a very pretty girl. Tommy wrote this song using that phrase. "JAM UP AND JELLY TIGHT" was a #8 hit in 1969 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
