This season of Love Island almost broke me. Not because of the drama on screen (mostly), but because the online fan reactions have been so out of pocket I can barely open my social media apps anymore. The Huda Stans (the Hudrats or Huda HQ), the narrative that Chelley and Olandria are bullies, Cierra self-victimizing when she got eliminated for R-WORDISM, and just the general insistence on seeing the worst in Black women and punishing them for even showing up while giving non-Black WOC a pass for any and all bad behavior.
