🏔️Markha Valley Trek – Markha to Chokdo 🏔️ The Markha Valley Trek is one of Ladakh’s most iconic trekking experiences, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and Himalayan adventure. Located within the Hemis National Park, this trek takes you through a dramatic landscape of high-altitude deserts, rugged mountains, and deep river gorges, all set against the backdrop of snow-clad peaks like Kang Yatse and Stok Kangri. Spanning 6 to 8 days depending on the route, the trek begins near Leh and gradually ascends through quaint Ladakhi villages, each adorned with traditional mud-brick houses, ancient monasteries, and fluttering prayer flags. You’ll cross thrilling wooden bridges, wade through icy streams, and navigate high passes such as Ganda La (4,970 m) and Kongmaru La (5,260 m), which reward trekkers with panoramic views stretching as far as the Karakoram range. The trail is a living museum of Ladakh’s Buddhist heritage, with chortens, mani walls, and centuries-old gompas dotting the route. Wildlife lovers may spot blue sheep, marmots, golden eagles, and—if lucky—the elusive snow leopard. Nights are spent camping under a sky ablaze with stars, far from city lights. Best undertaken between June and September, the Markha Valley Trek is considered moderate to challenging due to its altitude, but it remains accessible to fit beginners with proper acclimatization. More than just a trek, it is an immersion into Ladakh’s timeless culture and raw mountain wilderness—an experience that lingers long after you return. #markhatrek #stok #hiking #ladakhtrek #hemisnationalpark #travel #lehladakhtourism #mountains Route we followed: 📍Skyu 📍Hamurja 📍Markha 📍Seru 📍Hankar 📍Thuchungtse 📍Nemaling near kang yetse 📍Kongmorula 📍Chokdo 📍Shang Music Credits: VN Music Music: Echoes In the Wind Musician: VN VideoEditor Music: Whispering Pines Musician: VN VideoEditor Music: The Whispering Pines Musician: VN VideoEditor Music: Dreamscape Musician: VN VideoEditor Music: Bright Horizons Musician: VN VideoEditor
