They ultimately go on with their lives, looking for leads and etcetera but never quite get to returning. Kai (with his newfound sense of right and wrong) returns to the prison world on Bonnie’s birthday to help her escape, feeling guilty for leaving her over there for so long. Something goes wrong, he sustains an injury in the middle of his travel and gets stuck with her on the other side. Bonnie nurses Kai back to health and the two steadily work through their problems, fighting for a way out. Which they find in Silas a year later. Unbeknownst to them, Silas uses them and their love for one another (with the help of his emissary Shane and his unflinching mind control) to get rid of former problems and to make sure his second attempt at finding peace with Amara goes unhindered. All goes well until he decides to try and get rid of one of them. Does he overestimate his influence and power? Are they too late to be saved?
