India Tears Into Pakistan At UNHRC, Says Vacate Illegally Occupied Kashmir Areas

India strongly countered Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council, delivering a sharp diplomatic response over allegations related to Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking during the High-Level Segment in Geneva, India’s First Secretary Anupama Singh rejected Pakistan’s claims, calling its narrative propaganda driven by envy and misinformation. Reaffirming New Delhi’s long-standing position, Singh stated that Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. She emphasised that the region’s accession to India was legal, final and fully consistent with international law. India also asserted that the only unresolved issue remains Pakistan’s continued occupation of territories under its control, urging Islamabad to vacate these areas. Highlighting democratic participation and development in the region, Singh pointed to record voter turnout and major infrastructure projects, including the Chenab Rail Bridge. She remarked that dismissing such progress reflected a disconnect from reality, suggesting Pakistan was living in a “La La Land”. India further pushed back against criticism on democracy, noting Pakistan’s own political instability.
