IBM Fellow and quantum pioneer Charlie H. Bennett has been named a co‑recipient of the 2025 ACM A.M. Turing Award, alongside longtime collaborator Gilles Brassard of the Université de Montréal, marking the seventh IBM‑affiliated Turing Award recipient and the first recognized specifically for contributions to quantum science. Bennett and Brassard are celebrated for groundbreaking work that helped ignite the quantum revolution and expand quantum information science as a field—reshaping how researchers think about computation, communication, and the nature of information.
