This abandoned old mining and mill facility is one of those well-preserved locations I frequent out in the desert southwest. This is "Goldome Mill," a place I call the Gateway to the Wasteland because of it's location just inside the entrance to the Mojave Desert preserve. Exploring locations such as this serve several purposes, not the least of which is getting out into the world and looking at it from a post-collapse viewpoint. Being away from the city and out in the natural environment of your area of operations is a good way to get a feel for the terrain and the local flora and fauna. And exploring abandoned ruins such as this can teach you a great many things about what life might look like after a societal collapse.
