Casio Oceanus OCW-S100 Full Review (Featuring the OCW-S100-7A2JF)

I've been curious about the upscale Casio Oceanus line of watches for a while but there were just a few things holding me back from buying one. First, these watches are only available for sale in Japan. Second, these are premium watches built from higher-end materials and carrying a higher-end price. Eventually, however, I found a reasonably good deal on a used Casio Oceanus OCW-S100-7A2JF and here it is. This particular Oceanus watch model has been available in one color choice or another since 2012 according to the owners manual for its module 5235. The most common variations have dark blue or light blue faces. They all feature 100-meter water resistance in a case which is rumored to be manufactured in the same facility where Grand Seiko watches are made. The case and bracelet are titanium and the crystal is made from sapphire glass. These watches use Casio's Tough Solar feature to keep the power charged up and they keep the time using Casio's Multiband 6 system to stay synchronized with Atomic Clock time. If you're accustomed to having the kinds of G-Shock watches I have then you'll have to get used to the fact that this watch doesn't have a stopwatch, a countdown timer, any alarms, any beeping sounds and it also doesn't have any kind of backlight (although it DOES have a fun, aqua-blue glow-in-the-dark lume material on the hands and on the five-minute markers around the dial). It's a watch which is made to look good and keep excellent time. Even without the assistance of Multiband 6 reception it can stay accurate to within 15 second per month with its own quartz accuracy.
