Since the military coup in Niger, regional bloc ECOWAS has gone as far as to threaten the use of military force and brought in a wave of sanctions on Niamey. FRANCE 24’s Chinwe Ossondu and Moïse Gomis report on the impact of the sanctions on the livelihood of few border dwellers in Nigeria’s Katsina State, where majority of the inhabitants have family and very strong links on the other side of the border.
