When they reached the river and started crossing it, the donkey suddenly slipped. Losing its balance, the donkey fell into the river. The next day, Krishnan once again set out for business as usual. This time, the donkey deliberately fell into the river. Krishnan immediately understood the donkey’s trick. The following day, instead of salt, Krishnan loaded a sack of cotton onto the donkey’s back. As usual, when they reached the river, the donkey fell into the water again. But the cotton absorbed water and became very heavy. Struggling with the heavy load, the donkey crossed the river with great difficulty and finally reached the shore. The donkey realized its mistake.
