Real life got in the way big time, everything's been pretty awful the past few weeks. But I finally got some energy to talk about FASERIP some more, so here we are looking at the very useful Ultimate Powers Book, a supplement for the Marvel Super Heroes RPG Advanced Set by TSR. Now this book, like many TSR softcovers from the 80s, needs some careful handling after all these years, and it can be tough to find. But if you want to make your own heroes and/or villains for your MSH gaming pleasure, this slim-but-packed volume is essential. As you'll see, there's tonnes of powers in here, all explained in great detail wtih lots of great ideas for combinations with other powers. The power system in FASERIP is much less open than you might find in Champions/Hero System or GURPS, but there's more than enough here to make thousands of interesting and unique characters. Next time in the FASERIP series, we'll take a look at Realms of Magic, which helps you get your Dr Strange on by fleshing out the arcane in the Marvel Universe. After that we'll take a look at some great hero and villain supplements, covering the Avengers, the X-Men, Dr Doom, and more! Oh and don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Star Wars; my Force & Destiny video is in the works!
