The video shows the tracks of radioactive particles in a cloud chamber. We can only see natural radioactivity in this video, because no source of artificial radiation like uranium or radon was used, which is a part of all three decay chains. Typical ionizing particles include alpha particles, protons, electrons and their antiparticles - positrons. We can see all these particles in the cloud chamber: Alpha particles create short and thick tracks - their tracks are visible very well. Proton tracks can vary in length from the whole width of the chamber all the way to a dot - depending on the angle at which the proton enters the cloud chamber. Electron and positron tracks are identical. The tracks can be various thin, straight or twisted. Because the electric charge of electron and positron is opposite, the tracks of these particles can be distinguished only when the cloud chamber is placed into a magnetic field. The Nuledo Compacta Cloud Chamber was used in this video. For more information see the website https://www.nuledo.com/.
