(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website) As the name indicates, the cigar pays homage to the Taíno Native American people. The Taíno were based in the Caribbean (most notably on the island of Hispaniola) and were the first known civilization to cultivate and consume tobacco leaves. For the most part, Serino Cigar Company has worked with Omar Gonzalez Aleman’s La Corona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. However, the Taino Heritage becomes Serino’s first premium blend out of the Dominican Republic as it is made at Jochy Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma. The original Taino cigar continues to be made in Nicaragua at La Corona. The blend itself consists of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Dominican binder and filler. The filler includes Criollo ’98 and Piloto Cubano fillers aged five years. The cigars are available in three sizes in 20-count boxes.
