New 2022 Morgan SUPER 3 - Full Review

Morgan's fresh new three-wheeled model, which was teased in late January, makes its premiere to continue the company's 113-year legacy. The new Super 3 is the most customisable model in the automaker's history, having been designed and developed from the ground up to have the same character, thrill, and adventure as its predecessors. The new Super 3 will be built in the company's Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern, Worcestershire. A bonded aluminum monocoque platform underpins the three-wheeler, which the British company claims is a real monocoque with stressed outside A-surfaces. The car is lighter and has a more solid chassis thanks to this technology, which is an improved version of the 2020 Plus Four and 2019 Plus Six platforms. Morgan also claims that the Super 3's cabin has been improved and now has more space for passengers. The Super 3 may appear to be more of the same than its predecessor in terms of appearance, but it is actually inspired by a somewhat different concept. The 3 Wheeler was designed in the style of V-twin-engined three-wheelers from the 1920s, but its successor is inspired by the mid- to late-century. As a result, the new model has a more streamlined appearance, with the most noticeable difference being the absence of a V-twin engine between the front wheels. Given the vehicle's mission, the Super 3's cabin has been built from top to bottom with adventure in mind. The whole cabin, including the integrated USB connections and fully digital circular displays, is completely dust-tight and water-resistant. Inside the Super 3, every touchpoint is comprised of formed metal and is cold to the touch. The engine start-stop button, which is inspired by the missile release button on military aircraft, is one of the few components kept over from its predecessor. The Super 3 is powered by a three-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine from Ford. Despite the lack of definite output numbers, Morgan claims the unit is "powerful, efficient, and characterful," and that it matches the Super 3 well. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox that is identical to the one used in the Mazda MX-5 and the 3 Wheeler. The transmission, on the other hand, has undergone significant changes and is now connected to a carbon fiber-reinforced drive belt. The new Super 3 is now available to order in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States, with the first deliveries expected in the coming months on the European continent. The first models for North America will be delivered in 2022, followed by Japan and Australia. In the United Kingdom, the starting price is £34,958 before local taxes, or about $47,070 at current exchange rates.
