I want as a 46-year-old to be able to comfortably say, 'I have Tourette's. It doesn't define me. It is a part of who I am, without shame.' Because I think that that can be empowering for younger generations," said Jennifer Bock-Nelson, an artist based in Quincy, who is one of the winners of the 2025 Midwest Award for Artists with Disabilities. Bock-Nelson has been a professional artist 20 years and has a couple murals in Quincy. She works as an assistant professor and director of Mabee Gallery at Culver-Stockton College.
