Mactan Shrine, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu January 28, 2026 The Philippines officially launched the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Tourism Forum 2026 with a gong strike, under the theme ‘Navigating Our Tourism Future, Together,’ on January 28, 2026. First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos graced the event at Mactan Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. Spearheaded by the Department of Tourism (DOT), led by Secretary Maria Esperanza Christina Frasco, the event unveiled five (5) major thrusts under the SAIL ASEAN (SAIL-A) brand: • Strengthening trade and investment linkages • Accelerating digital transformation • Integrating ASEAN’s MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) development agenda • Leveraging the creative economy and innovation • Advancing sustainable and inclusive economies In a message, Secretary Frasco described the SAIL-A as a compass for the Region’s shared direction, connecting tourism development to broader economic cooperation, innovation and sustainability goals. She also highlighted the completion and adoption of the ASEAN Tourism Sector Plan 2026-2030, describing it as a clear and unified path for sustainable and inclusive tourism in the Region. In closing, Secretary Frasco called on fellow tourism ministers from ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners, the private sectors and other stakeholders to translate the SAIL-A into concrete steps and long-term benefits for the Region’s people. #ASEANPh #ASEAN2026 #ASEANPhilippines2026 #WeLeadASEAN #NavigatingOurFutureTogether * * Connect with RTVM Website: http://rtvm.gov.ph Facebook: www.facebook.com/presidentialcom and www.facebook.com/rtvmalacanang YouTube: @RTVMalacanang Tiktok: @RTVMalacanang
