Prison Drug Ring Busted in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY (Dawn Faugl) -- Authorities say The London Correctional Facility may have been the hub of a major drug smuggling ring out of Mexico. Investigators in Ohio and Indiana say a confidential informant in the prison tipped them off to the ring, saying the ringleader tried to recruit him. Investigators say Cesar Llammas was running the multimillion dollar drug smuggling ring, using code words for cocaine, heroin, and marijuana. Information from prison phone calls to Mexico led officers to drug routes between Mexico, California, Texas, and Chicago, and a stop in Indiana. Officers say they found Luis Magallon off I-74 in Indiana, carrying four kilos of heroin hidden in his vehicle, headed to central Ohio.
