President Yoweri Museveni has urged Christians to embrace government programs so as to participate in government effort to eliminate poverty in the country. The appeal was contained in a message delivered by the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja on the occasion of the inauguration of St. Johns Church in Entebbe Municipality. Museveni emphasized the church dual role of evangelization alongside improving the livelihood of the Christians. St Johns Church in Entebbe Municipality was a prayer place for colonialists. The first church was constructed by Governor Sir Hesketh Bell in 1908 and it is located near State House Entebbe. 118 later Entebbe Christians mobilized and constructed a new church that has been inaugurated. The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has represented president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. In the sermon, the bishop of Namirembe diocese Moses Bbanja who also led the service appealed to Christians to avoid satanic behavior during lent Bishop Bbanja also installed Canon Rocky Ssendegeya to head St johns Church. Banja appreciated President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the support to the church, especially in the construction of the new church. The Prime Minister also delivered President Museveni contribution of 10 million shillings.
