Monster Catch! Hauls in HUGE 21lb Conger Eel From The Beach!

Hello and welcome to Local Marks Fishing!! The biggest shore caught fish ever landed for Local Marks Fishing was not what was expected when a road trip to Selsey was undertaken. The best fish hoped for on the night was an undulate ray and that was the target species! The rigs used to take on the task were long flowing pully pennels ‪@RobzRigz-uc8nn‬ which had kindly been donated. Squid and mackerel baits were taken along but failed to bag anything at all for the best part of the session. It seemed that everything was going wrong on the night! The shelter had to be moved twice due to the wind and rain and the bite was just not happening! At one point we did manage to pull a dogfish from the very quiet waters to save any potential blank and to be honest it was a relief to see it considering! We fished the tide all the way up to high water and then decided on fishing it out for an hour. It was at this point around half hour into the ebb that we had a great bite and slack line! Who could've have imagined the power house at the end of that line as the rod was struck! It was instantly apparent that we were into a solid fish of substantial stature! It's initial run required an immediate slackening of the drag to prevent a failure at the rig end. From there in it was just a heart in the mouth battle to try and beach the behemoth! The fish topped off what had started as an incredibly slow night. Despite everyone having a great time in the chat it was looking like we were going home on one dogfish!
