Logan Greenwood, an Inside Smart Component Specialist with McNaughton-McKay, leads this Tech Support video. In this overview of Advisor, a cloud-based product selection, configuration and system design tool from Rockwell Automation®, Greenwood demonstrates how to navigate to Advisor’s page and then utilize the Product Catalog to search for product families based on your needs. The search functionality includes different filters related to the category that will make it easy to select a product. There is also a “Configure” button, allowing users to enter application specs and receive specific part numbers, recommended accessories, alternative products, drawings, documents and specifications. Advisor enables users to create multiple projects, add products to a bill of materials (BOM) and switch between projects for ease of use. Similar to the Integrated Architecture Builder (IAB), Advisor’s “System Designers” tab lets users design systems to meet their hardware specifications, including Programmable Controllers (PLCs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and Packaged Drives. If you would like to know more about using Advisor to select and configure products or design systems, please comment below or contact your McNaughton-McKay account manager today.
