Hey! My name is Rey and i'll be taking your x-rays. In this video i'll be demonstrating how to take x-rays on an upper extremity. However, the patient has trauma to their elbow and limited range of motion of their shoulder. The routine approach of imaging a frozen elbow, imaging the distal and proximal portion separately, was not an option. They were not able to erect their arm. So for the first time on my channel, i'll be showing you (how to tip?) critical thinking, or XRAY VISION, if you will, to get the views needed for a humerus, elbow, and forearm. How I see it, when dealing with a trauma patient. You simply use your knowledge and experience of the countless prior routine exams you've done and apply it to this puzzle you now have in front of you. I'll be honest, if you do well with visualizing angles and thinking outside the box, you will excel more than others. I personally look forward to these exams, because I enjoy problem solving and challenging myself. However, if you have trouble with such things, don't fret. It just helps. You should be by now competent or somewhat comfortable with knowing the positioning and radiographic criteria of the views ordered. So now... How do you get them when your patient isn't able to move into the ideal position you need? Well, keep watching to find out. Hit that like button if you appreciate these positioning videos. I put a lot of time into them, and a like goes a very long way. Don't forget to wait till the end for some words of motivation. Thank you for all the love and support. Hope you're doing well.
