St George to McAdam - Almost - EPIC FAIL!

We set out on an ATV and SXS trail ride from St. George, New Brunswick, with the goal of reaching the historic McAdam Train Station using connected snowmobile trails and local road sections. This Southern New Brunswick ATV adventure started smoothly, combining forest trails, railbed-style riding, and scenic backcountry routes that many off-road riders search for when planning long-distance ATV trips in New Brunswick. Just a few kilometres outside of McAdam, conditions changed fast. What looked like a normal trail turned into a boggy, unfrozen section that stopped our SXS and side-by-side ride in its tracks. Within 500 feet, we were stuck three separate times. We got out the first two times ourselves by winching - a situtation that many ATV riders and SXS owners can relate to. On the third attempt, winching was no longer an option. With no safe recovery possible, we made the call for help. The McAdam Fire Department responded and performed a full off-road vehicle recovery, bringing multiple machines and equipment to extract our stuck SXS from the bog.
