Welcome back to the channel. Had a bit of a volume issue on the first upload. Thank you for your patience. Let’s get right into it! Lately, I’ve been discovering more aspects of modern day life in America which seem to have their roots stemming from Old World aspects of Native American cultures. Upon first interactions with the Native Americans, and discovery of their massive mounds and earthworks, current narrative tells us that many settlers were taken back by the vastly different culture of the Native Americans. The freedom, art, expression, and physical prowess of the Native Americans was a true dichotomy from the reserved lives of the earliest settlers. Within a few short decades, however, European settlers began to adopt different aspects of Native culture. One of the more interesting events was the introduction of “team sports” to the European Settlers. This was done through one of the oldest, and most revered past times of the Native Americans; Lacrosse. Known throughout a wide variety of Native groups by a wide variety of different names, the sport eventually became known as Stick-Ball, or Lacrosse. Today we will dive into some details about this early American sport, while discussing just how epic, and widespread, Lacrosse matches initially could be. We will also discuss the impact lacrosse matches had on decision-making within certain Native cultures. Thank you being here. Please share your thoughts and comments down below. Feel free to browse my older videos for more information on Old World cultures, and please hit that thumbs up if you enjoyed this video.
