Part 49 of 'The X-Trail Files' As usual, the car is my 2005 Nissan T30 Xtrail 2.2 Dci Sport (134bhp) Please read. This is going to be a long video in two parts because the injectors are buried under the rocker cover (camshaft cover) and the leak-off pipe can be a total pain to remove if the pipe union has seized up or been previously over tightened...which is what happened in this video. When removing the injectors, its good practice to remove the leak-off pipe so it can be checked and cleaned and blown out with an airline. On my car, the pipe could be loosened but I couldn't remove it completely due to it being jammed up tight where it joins the rubber and metal pipe. Hopefully yours will be easier to remove but if not, then just try and loosen it enough to pivot the pipe up away from the injectors to enable access to the injector retaining clamp bolts. My leak-off pipe was damaged so I'm going to need to replace it or repair it. Please note:The rocker cover bolts pass through short spacer 'tubes' which candrop out into the top of the engine while lifting off the cover. Vital that you ensure each spacer is present so count each one! Use a magnet to retrieve if they drop into the top of the engine. Make notes, take photos before removing anything. I'll be showing how to remove the injectors in part 50 so click the bell icon to get notifications. There will be mid-roll ads which I don't control so apologies in advance. Hopefully the algorithm will show car or car DIY related ads.
