7 days Gravel adventure in Sicily / 7 giorni di Gravel in Sicilia ENG Goethe described Sicily in his book "Viaggio in Italia" in this way: "The purity of the contours, the softness of everything, the yielding interchangeability of the colours, the harmonic unity of the sky with the sea and of the sea with the earth… who he has seen them once, he will possess them for a lifetime." We can say that this is exactly the case, after having traveled the splendid itinerary of the Sicily Divide from Catania to Trapani (actually we did not stop in Trapani but continued along the entire north coast). A splendid route, at times challenging, to be covered preferably with gravel bicycles in order to be able to fully enjoy it. We did it in October, an excellent period in terms of temperatures, be careful in case of rain, it can turn into an ordeal on the dirt sections. We met wonderful people, in places untouched by mass tourism and seaside resorts, which further enriched our experience. You will find below the links of the stages on Komoot, attention: a van is used for overnight stays, most of the tracks contain the return to the starting point. It is not a problem to shorten them before downloading them to Garmin (or similar) in case you are interested in retracing. ITA Goethe descriveva la Sicilia nel suo libro "Viaggio in Italia" in questo modo: "La purezza dei contorni, la morbidezza di ogni cosa, la cedevole scambievolezza delle tinte, l’unità armonica del cielo col mare e del mare con la terra… chi li ha visti una sola volta, li possederà per tutta la vita." Possiamo dire che è proprio così, dopo aver percorso lo splendido itinerario della Sicily Divide da Catania a Trapani (in realtà non ci siamo fermati a Trapani ma abbiamo proseguito per tutta la costa nord). Un percorso splendido, a tratti impegnativo, da percorrere preferibilmente con biciclette gravel per poterlo godere appieno. Noi lo abbiamo percorso in Ottobre, ottimo periodo per quanto riguarda le temperature, da fare attenzione in caso di pioggia, può trasformarsi in un calvario nei tratti sterrati. Abbiamo incontrato gente splendida, in luoghi non contaminati dal turismo di massa e balneare fatto che ha arricchito ulteriormente la nostra esperienza. Troverete di seguito i link delle tappe su Komoot, attenzione: vendo utilizzato un van per i pernottamenti, la gran parte delle tracce contengono il rientro al punto di partenza. Non è un problema accorciarle prima di scaricarle sul Garmin (o affini) in caso siate interessati a ripercorrere.
