The vehicle is a 4x4 International Chassis, powered by a Cummins L9 Engine, 5 Speed Allison Transmission, has a PTO driven Waterous CPK-3 Fire Pump, which is a 500 GPM 2 stage pump capable of Pump and Roll. VCFD has made enhancements to the fire pump layout, added 2 hose reels, customized body compartments, and placed an emphasis on efficiency and comfort The Tubular Steel body used in its construction is built to the cabs height and has proven to save lives in vehicle roll overs. It has a 500-gallon poly water tank, 20-gallon foam tank and the two hose reels are loaded with 150’ dura-boost hose. All the new rigs are equipped with a 2 ½ direct fill on the rear of the vehicle. The Model 34 is equipped with the Bendix® ESP® stability system continuously monitors a variety of vehicle parameters and sensors to determine if the vehicle is reaching a critical stability threshold. If such a situation develops, the system will quickly and automatically intervene to assist the driver. The system can apply brakes selectively, as well as de-throttle the engine and will do so automatically (without operator intervention). Interventions may be so minor that they may not be noticed by the driver and can be events that use small engine throttle reductions only. The Bendix® ESP stability system uses information from the sensors on the vehicle to detect when the risk of rollover is present. Where the conditions make a rollover likely, the system will automatically reduce the engine throttle, and if necessary, apply all vehicle brakes. We will focus on 4-wheel drive training and type 3 pumping, in this year’s RT-130. Reach out to training division with any questions.
