Only men. --pause-- They are Muslim men at Hajj in Makkah, Arabia. Hajj is an obligation on both Muslim men and women. only men are, however, required to run while women simply walk. But why? --pause-- This is to remember love of a mother. Long-long time ago. --pause-- Mother Hager or Hajirah was a wife of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon both of them. When she was left there by Prophet Ibrahim. Just her and her infant son, Ismail, peace be upon him. Alone in dessert. At God’s command. --pause-- As their water ran out, she started looking for water. She climbed the nearby hill of Safaa to look around. She found no one and no sign of water. As she walked to another hill Marwa, in the valley depression she could not keep an eye on Ismail. Desperate for water. Away from her son, She ran until she could see him. In her search for water, walking and running, she made 7 trips. Until she found the water. ---pause-- She heard a voice and then was an angle. The angle was digging with his heels or wing. And water was gushing out of it. Her prayers were answered. She made a little basin to contain the water. ---pause-- Zamzam water became the reason other people started settling in. Makkah was born. Where Prophet Ibrahim and Ismael will rebuild Kaba, the house of God. ---pause-- So it is the love of a mother. Her desperate search for water. Her crying around with prayers. Running and walking in search. That today millions of Muslim men run where she ran.  It is about 2 miles.
