Please enjoy this short interview shot with Dr. Bruce Gewertz, an alumni of the PSU/ Jeff accelerated medical program. Bruce L Gewertz MD is a nationally known vascular surgeon with 40 years’ experience in academic medicine as a department chair, vice dean and hospital vice-president. A prolific investigator, his research in physiology, health services and human factors has been funded by NIH, DOD and the American Heart Association. Along with David Logan, he authored a highly successful book on physician development (“The Best Medicine: A physician’s guide to effective leadership”, Springer, 2015). He is widely sought as a keynote speaker and consultant on leadership and organization, counseling multiple academic institutions and hospitals. He has served on a number of corporate boards and serves on the managing committee of an $80 M venture fund and Tech Stars associated accelerator.
