Healthy Indian flat bread made with whole meal flour Ingredients (measuring cup used 250ml): 1/2 cup (125ml) warm water 2 cups (260g) stone ground wholemeal flour/ATTA 1 tsp oil 1/2-1 tsp of salt Method: Mix ingredients together to form a smooth dough. Cover with damp cloth and rest for 15-30 mins. (Alternatively put in bread machine on mix/kneed setting) Take golf ball sized dough and roll into a round. Put frying pan on med-hot heat, and place chapati in and cook one side until it starts to bubble and has brown spots. Flip and cook until brown spots on the other side. Optional: If you have a gas stove, you can finish it off by putting it directly on the gas flame for a few seconds. Tips: Left over dough can be wrapped in plastic and saved in the fridge or freezer. You can pre portion the dough and freeze, taking one out for a few mins to defrost and roll out when you want to eat fresh chapatti.
