In this video, you'll learn more about measuring and recording common tree data for tracking for UMN research projects, including our GLRI community gravel bed research. Researchers need to record several pieces of data to track planted trees, including: unique identification number, location, species information, planting date, conditions, and diameter at breast height (DBH). This information is recorded at initial planting as well as during follow-up visits to track tree performance and survival. This video outlines how to measure DBH, as well as how to tailor data entry based on the tools used by your organization.
