Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I fell ill during the 2nd day of Riga, so I couldn't go anywhere on that day and had to get food delivered to me to avoid disseminating what could be a contagious disease. I even had medication delivered and that was why I felt vastly better the next day. Riga is a city with 600k people, making it the 2nd by a narrow margin in the Baltics, only after Vilnius. With its dope architecture in the Gothic, Baroque, Art Nouveau as well as other styles, it makes Riga quite beautiful. There are a lot of attractions, such as the Black Heads House, Occupation Museum of Latvia, St Peter's Church, Riga Cathedral, Three Brothers House (Museum of Architecture), Museum of History of Riga and Navigation, the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Corner House, the Motor Museum, and more, which makes Riga worth it, and you could reasonably want to put aside 2-3 days to visit most major attractions. I could get a modest dish for 5-10 EUR and a reasonable Latvian dish for 10-15 EUR, attraction prices are quite reasonable (at 4-15 EUR). Public transportation is still relatively affordable (and reasonably high tech) at 1.50 EUR for a 90 minute ticket and 5 EUR for a day pass. Major churches cost money to enter. In April, hours are typically longer, with sunsets being at 20:00. However, the weather is quite reasonable in April, at 10-15 degrees C, but the temperature fluctuated too much during my time there, with weathers plummeting from 18 degrees C to 7 degrees C to 3 degrees C between 3-5 April. I paid $35 a night for the Central Hotel about 3 km away from the city centre. Timestamps: Please subscribe, follow me on social media sites, and click the bell icon to get notifications.
