🎻 The French violin virtuoso, François Pineau-Benois, played the solo role in Eero Karvonen's "Solace" as part of the concert "Classics & Premieres" held at the Oulu Cathedral (Oulu, Finland) on March 16, 2024. Solace is about the thoughts of a condemned criminal. He sets off on his final journey, comforted by the thought that those dearest to him have been able to forgive him for what he has done and still recognise in him the person who is precious to them. The piece is part of a larger music project based on a historical story written by MA Paula Karvonen. 🎵 The performers: François Pineau-Benois, solo violin Sinikka Ala-Leppilampi, concertmaster Emma-Riina Aho, Petra Keinänen, violin Weronika Skowrońska, viola Heikki Takkula, cello Juha Nääppä, double bass 🎶 Oulunsalo Ensemble is a master-apprentice model orchestra founded and directed by Finnish violin/orchestra educator Sinikka Ala-Leppilampi.
