In this video, I'm showing you a foundational concept in home coffee roasting: why every coffee roasts differently, even under the same roast plan. I’ll roast two specialty coffees—Sumatra Mandheling (wet-hulled) and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe (washed)—with identical batch size, charge temp, and airflow. But the results? Totally different. You’ll learn how bean size, moisture content, processing method, and more, can all change the timing, temperature, and flavor development of your roast. Whether you're new to roasting or looking to dial in your profiles, understanding this concept is key to improving your roasts. 👉 Let me know in the comments: Do you adjust your profile for every coffee, or do you use the same profile for every roast? — 🛠️ Tools & Gear Mentioned: – Density measuring cup method - • Measure Green Coffee Bean Density – DiFluid Omix Plus - https://amzn.to/4i4XK5M ☕ Coffees Roasted: – Sumatra Mandheling https://www.coffeebeancorral.com/www/... – Ethiopian Yirgacheffe https://www.coffeebeancorral.com/www/...
