When buying a leather jacket (or any leather goods for that matter) you run into a lot of descriptors about the leather. Some are obvious like leather stiffness. But what about Pigment or Aniline leather finishes? At initial glance, these finishes may appear to be quite similar. However, there are a few serious differences between the two. The jackets I use for comparison are both from Rainbow Country. The black Hercules model has a pigment finish while the brown Speedster has an aniline one. They're both made from horsehide from the famous Shinki Hikaku tannery. So the only major difference between them is their pigment vs aniline finish.
