This video is uploaded for educational and entertainment purposes only) After years of searching, here is James Cagney's final film performance in this CBS made for TV movie from 1984, coming three years after he broke his 20-year film exile with Milos Forman's Ragtime (1981)*. Joe Moran (Cagney) is an aging fighter now confined to a wheelchair, with only the company of his old trainer (Art Carney in an Emmy-winning performance). Suddenly his world is changed when his estranged granddaughter (Ellen Barkin) comes into his life, on the run from dangerous guys who are after her no-good boyfriend (Peter Gallagher). *By this time, Cagney had suffered a series of mild strokes that had slightly affected his speech.
