Celebrating Yogananda’s Founding of the SRF International Headquarters 100 Years Ago

We invite you to join Brother Chidananda, president and spiritual head of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, for a special talk celebrating the 100th anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda’s founding of the international headquarters of Self-Realization Fellowship atop Mount Washington in Los Angeles in 1925. Lovingly named by him as the SRF Mother Center, this location was established by Yogananda as a training center for SRF monastics, and the administrative center for disseminating worldwide the ancient science of Kriya Yoga. During a service held at the Mother Center in 1936, he prayed: “Heavenly Father….bless us that through our love for Thee we make Mt. Washington a heaven on earth….May a portable heaven be established in the breast of each one who comes here to seek Thee.” This special event was livestreamed from the SRF International Headquarters on October 25, 2025.  During his talk, Brother Chidananda mentions the SRF International Headquarters Retrofit and Rehabilitation Project, which is focused on preserving this sanctuary of peace and harmony for generations to come.
